Melbourne’s Hidden
Japanese Restaurant
& Sake Bar
where every detail reflects Japan.
OUR FOOD
私たちの食べ物
Japanese dining in Melbourne finds new expression at Izakaya Miyazaki. Our menu brings together time honoured traditions and ingredients rarely found in Melbourne CBD, from A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and delicate uni and seasonal sashimi selected each week. Experience yakitori grilled over binchotan charcoal, the quiet theatre of shabu shabu and sukiyaki, and the precision of sashimi, each dish a celebration of balance, purity and the true essence of Japan.
Miyazaki wagyu
宮崎和牛
We import our A5 Wagyu directly from Miyazaki, Japan’s most celebrated Wagyu region, to ensure unmatched freshness and quality. Raised with care by the Miyachiku cooperative, this beef is renowned for its marbling, tenderness and delicate sweetness that lingers with every bite. Served sashimi style, sizzling over a hot yakiniku plate at your table or cooked in shabu shabu broth, each preparation reveals a new expression of this world class beef.
Izakaya Drinks
居酒屋の飲み物
Our drinks list celebrates the essence of an izakaya, with one of Melbourne’s most extensive sake selections alongside Japanese inspired cocktails, premium wines and sparkling sake. From light and easy styles for a first taste to rare vintages treasured in Japan, every pour is chosen to keep the good times rolling. Kanpai!

What Our Guests Say
4.8 stars from more than 700 Google reviews
"We were wandering around Melbourne CBD looking for somewhere to eat when we spotted a small sign for Izakaya Miyazaki leading down into a basement off Russell Street. Intrigued
by the hidden vibe, we went downstairs… it feels like a proper Tokyo-style izakaya."
— Jessa Mahusay
"Also had a couple Yakitori skewers which were incredible. The smoke and char from the
grill worked its magic… The sukiyaki set itself is the best one I've had in Melbourne."
— Karam Devnani
"The atmosphere was warm and authentic, making it feel like a hidden gem in the heart of
Melbourne. The Miyazaki Wagyu was incredibly tender and full of flavour, and the sashimi
was exceptionally fresh."
